Why do we Wear Blue March 1st?
Put on your best blue shirt this Friday, March 1 to kick off Colon Cancer Awareness Month.
Every year, more than 140,000 people are diagnosed with this profoundly preventable disease, joining over 1.4 million colorectal cancer patients and survivors living today.
Wear Blue Day lets communities throughout connect our mission to stop colorectal cancer. By wearing blue and raising funds, you increase awareness of this epidemic and further our work— as well as honor all who are affected by colorectal cancer.
So, how will you wear blue? Show by posting a picture and tagging the Colon Cancer Task Force, @coloncancertask, on social media.
Thanks to colon cancer screening, the death rate for colon cancer has been declining, and the Task Force hopes to see this continue through their educational and awareness efforts.
