10 Juicing Recipes for Cancer Prevention

According to the American Cancer Society, eating at least 2 ½ cups of fruits and vegetables each day can help to reduce your risk for a variety of cancers because they are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants have the ability to attack free radicals in your body to get rid of them. Free radicals can damage the DNA in your cells over time, leading to disease. Foods high in antioxidants include carrots, green leafy vegetables, berries, citrus fruits, apples, pears, and green tea. If you find it difficult to consume fruits and vegetables at each meal, consider juicing!

A recent review of research published in Medical News Today highlighted the health benefits of carrot juice, including the prevention of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), breast and stomach cancer, and can prevent side effects from leukemia treatment. Juicing is a great way to get the nutritional benefits of fruits and vegetables without the bulk — 1 cup of carrot juice is nutritionally equal to 5 cups of sliced carrots.
