A Perfect Day for the 17th Annual Boxer 500!
The 17th annual Boxer 500 took place on Sunday, August 24 at Werner Park—and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for a run or walk! With sunshine and comfortable weather, hundreds of families, friends, and volunteers came together to raise awareness for colon cancer prevention and early detection.
Participants showed up bright and early at 8 a.m., many sporting their favorite pair of boxer shorts, ready to run or walk in support of the cause. The event featured a 5K run/walk, 1-mile walk, 1K kids run, and kids’ dash—offering something for every age and ability.
After crossing the finish line, families enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast and the always-popular kids zone. Local radio personality and colon cancer survivor, Crash Davis, hosted the event, adding energy and inspiration throughout the morning.
All proceeds from the Boxer 500 remain right here in Omaha, helping spread awareness and provide critical resources for colon cancer prevention and early detection.
